Mood: Not enough time to do it all.
13th January 2008
Windsurfing: Brogborough Lake
Wind Direction: S
Wind Stength: 3-5
Surf / Sea State: Small chop
Air Temperature: 10C
Sea Temperature: 5.2C
Weather: Cloudy
Max Speed: 27.7kts (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 18.2 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Quite cold but it looked like the wind would fill in. On XC I saw that the wind on the south coast was >5 and it was spreading northwards. On the water for 12 - I was powered up from the start on 5-6. I hadn't used my 105litre combat for some time. It felt big. I saw Ingrid struggling overpowered and unable to water start due to the wind strength. Stopping to address the finger hots I saw Mike G, Mike M, Dave K and John M were soon to be on the water. Being a southerly it was quite easy to make the islands at the far end of the lake. Soon Mike was joined by Dave Tiff and the French guy doing long speed runs up and down. My board could hope to match. I did a few helis and made some nice gybes - I was happy enough.

A bit tired by 2;45 I quite while I was ahead and also it looked like the wind was falling off.

Some of our club are riding the HONC in April and there is quite a bit of competition as regards fitness. I must ride regularly until then, so I think I'll have to do an hour on the trainer when I get home!
